Bathrooms are wet and humid, so the material matters more than in any other room. Vinyl or faux wood (composite) shutters are generally chosen for wet rooms because they resist moisture. Tilting louvres also give you privacy while still letting light and air in.

Notes
MDF / vinyl
£250–£350
Budget option; vinyl is often used for wet rooms.
Faux wood / composite
£290–£400
Moisture resistant; heavier than hardwood.
The "MDF / vinyl" row covers both materials at the budget end. For a bathroom, ask for vinyl specifically and check with your installer that the material they quote is suitable for a wet room.
How to estimate yours (our method)
Multiply the width by the height of the area the shutter will cover, in metres, then apply the range for your material. For example, a 0.6 m × 0.9 m bathroom window is 0.54 m², which is about £135–£189 at the MDF / vinyl range or £157–£216 in faux wood. Rounded to the nearest pound, including VAT.
What to think about in a bathroom
Moisture: choose vinyl or faux wood rather than a material your installer doesn't recommend for wet rooms.
Privacy: café style covers just the lower part of the window, and tier-on-tier lets you open the top for light and air while the bottom stays closed.
Small windows: you pay for the area the shutter covers, so a small bathroom window has a small area. Installers may still have a minimum charge, so ask.
Cleaning: shutters are wiped down rather than washed.
We don't add a fixed amount for room type or style, because extras vary too much between installers to estimate reliably. A free survey gives you an exact price.
